Are you aged 11-16 and love debates, crime shows, or social justice? Join Justice Juniors: UK Law Stars for a 5-week online course (28 July–31 August 2025) exploring UK criminal law! This course is your chance to explore real-life UK criminal law, understand the justice system, and sharpen your thinking like a future barrister, detective, or legal pro.
Each lesson includes separate content for KS3 and KS4 — so whether you’re just starting or ready to dive deeper, you’ll get challenges and explanations that suit your level.
Lesson 1: What is a Crime? — Decide what counts as criminal, civil, or just wrong.
Lesson 2: Actus Reus — Explore voluntary acts, omissions, and legal duties.
Lesson 3: Mens Rea — Discover the difference between intention and recklessness.
Lesson 4: Concurrence & Causation — Link the act to the outcome and explore legal cause.
Lesson 5: Homicide – Murder — Break down the legal meaning of murder.
Lesson 6: Voluntary Manslaughter — Understand how mental state affects guilt.
Lesson 7: Involuntary Manslaughter — Learn how carelessness can lead to liability.
Lesson 8: Assault & Battery — Compare non-fatal offences and real-world examples.
Lesson 9: ABH & GBH — Discover what makes harm more serious in the eyes of the law.
Lesson 10: Theft — Identify the elements needed for a theft conviction.
Lesson 11: Robbery & Burglary — Explore how force and entry change the crime.
Lesson 12: Criminal Damage — Learn about arson, graffiti, and property offences.
Lesson 13: Public Order Offences — Find out when protest crosses the legal line.
Lesson 14: Self-Defence & Duress — Argue when force or pressure can excuse a crime.
Lesson 15: Insanity, Automatism & Intoxication — Explore unusual defences in real-life inspired cases.
