Autism & ADHD CIC: online weekly support for families across the UK
The Autism and ADHD Advocates CIC are providing weekly online support sessions designed to help parents and carers better understand autism and ADHD, and feel more confident supporting their child in everyday life.
Their approach is accessible, practical, and family‑centred, making specialist guidance available to households across the whole of the UK.
These sessions provide a supportive space where families can learn, ask questions, and gain reassurance from trained practitioners who understand the day‑to‑day realities of raising neurodivergent children. Whether a family is newly exploring neurodiversity or has been on this journey for years, the service is structured to meet people where they are.
Their online sessions are designed to help families and professionals better understand autism, ADHD, sensory processing, and executive functioning — without jargon, judgement, or pressure.
These interactive workshops are practical, supportive, and accessible, giving you clear explanations, real-life examples, and strategies you can use straight away at home, in school, or in professional settings.
All sessions are delivered live online, so you can join from the comfort of your own space. There’s time for questions, discussion, and shared understanding — you don’t need a diagnosis to attend.
PROTECT YOUR HEART - CHECK YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE
Stroke Prevention Day on 29 January 2026 is an important opportunity to raise awareness of blood pressure and its vital link to heart health and stroke prevention.
Why blood pressure matters
High blood pressure is the single biggest risk factor for stroke. Often called a “silent killer”, it usually has no symptoms, yet it significantly increases the risk of:
- Stroke
- Heart disease
- Kidney disease

Risks for Nottingham City’s population
People living in Nottingham City face higher risks due to a combination of:
- Health inequalities and deprivation
- Higher rates of smoking and physical inactivity
- Poor diet and obesity

These factors contribute to higher rates of cardiovascular disease and stroke, making early detection and prevention especially important for our local communities.

Nottingham City Council are working in partnership with the Department for Culture, Media and Leisure to review Youth Services across Nottingham City.
The Local Youth Transformation aims to bring together mental health support, careers advice, youth activities, and practical help. It will be open-access, non-stigmatising, and rooted in the City, making it easier for young people to get the right help at the right time.
Please support the drive for young people to give their views.
Core Principles of the Local Youth Transformation
Co-creation with young people – Young people involved in design and delivery.
Open access and non-judgmental – Drop-in support without thresholds.
Integrated and holistic – Mental health, wellbeing, education, housing, and careers support in one place.
Safe and welcoming spaces – Informal, inclusive, and youth-friendly.
Flexible and responsive – Services tailored to local needs and young people’s voices.
Why This Matters for Nottingham City
This review supports Nottingham’s priorities:
Reducing youth violence through safe spaces and positive activities.
Improving mental health and wellbeing with early, accessible support.
Supporting education and employment by linking young people to opportunities.
Building community connections so young people feel heard and valued.
Why Your Voice Matters
To make the Youth offer truly work for Nottingham’s young people, their input is essential. Completing the survey is vital because:
It ensures the offer reflects real needs and aspirations.
It helps to design services that are accessible, relevant, and engaging.
It gives young people a say in shaping a space that belongs to them.
Please encourage young people (10-25 years olds) to complete this survey and share their valuable views on their priorities: Your Voice, Your Space. Creating a Young Futures Hub for the Community – Fill in form
