We are a locally led Certified Social Enterprise based in Nottingham, on a mission to transform screen time into purposeful growth for young people aged 11-18, particularly those experiencing social anxiety, social isolation, or neurodivergence.
We are currently looking for passionate, caring individuals to join us as volunteers. Whether you have a few hours a week or want to get more involved, your support can make a genuine difference in the lives of young people and their families in our community.

Purpose of the Role
To offer consistent, focused, and non-judgemental emotional support to parents, strengthen their own wellbeing so they can better support their children.
Role Description
As a Befriender, you will build trusting relationships with parents through our private WhatsApp community and provide warm, supportive presence during meetups such as coffee mornings and wellbeing walks.
Key Responsibilities
Engage regularly with parents in the private WhatsApp community
Offer friendly, non-judgemental listening and encouragement
Provide emotional support and practical prompts during daily interactions
Attend and support parents during in-person events (coffee mornings, wellbeing walks, etc.)
Help parents feel heard, valued, and less lonely in their parenting journey

Purpose of the Role
To create safe, engaging, and supportive spaces where young people can build life skills, emotional wellbeing and friendships.
Role Description
You will facilitate online sessions on our private Discord server and/or in-person events and workshops, helping young people feel seen, valued, and empowered.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate online chatroom activities and themed discussions
Lead in-person events and Nottingham Young Leaders sessions
Support young people’s emotional regulation and social skill development
Manage group dynamics compassionately, fostering an inclusive and neurodivergent-friendly environment.
Actively listen to participants, noting engagement trends, and identifying any emerging emotional or welfare needs.
Provide gentle, positive feedback and encouragement
Maintain records of attendance and feedback
Ensuring safeguarding and health and safety compliance during all activities

Experience & Skills Required
Prior experience in youth work, counseling, or teaching.
Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills, with a natural ability to connect warmly with young people.
Patience, reliable, empathy, enthusiastic and a non-judgemental attitude
Ability to stay grounded, adaptive, and calm when managing group settings or sensitive conversations.
Good understanding of neurodiversity and social anxiety (desirable)
Strong commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality

Purpose of the Role
To amplify the voice, impact, and local presence of Bridge Builders Wellbeing across digital platforms. This role will translate our youth mentoring and parent support initiatives into engaging, visually compelling content that drives community engagement, helps de-stigmatise mental health discussions, and attracts new participants and volunteers.
Role Description
As a Digital Content Creator, you will help shape how our community perceives Bridge Builders Wellbeing as a safe “third space”. You will design vibrant social media assets, edit video clips, and write inspiring copy that showcases the positive impact we create for young people and families. Working flexibly and remotely, you will capture the energetic, creative, and supportive environment we build.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and create engaging content tailored to different platforms
Design graphics, carousels, and Reels for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
Help document events, workshops, and success stories
Encourage community interaction by prompting comments and shares
Track basic metrics (engagement, reach, skip rates) to optimise content performance
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and neurodivergent-friendly tone across all content
Ensure all digital output strictly adheres to the organisation’s Online Safety and Data Protection policies

Key Responsibilities
Research local, regional, and national, and online grant opportunities
Help write persuasive, data-driven funding proposals that clearly convey the social impact
Support the planning and coordination of localised fundraising activities and sponsor drives
Build relationships with potential donors and sponsors
Ensure all fundraising practices are transparent, ethical, and compliant with UK regulations
Maintain accurate records of applications and donor acknowledgements

Maintain a structured communications calendar to track organizational milestones, delivery launches, and awareness weeks.
